Melissa Steinman

So much has happened...let me try to give you the short of it. After high school I went to ISU and didnt really learn much other than how to live on very little money. That didnt work out so well so I dabbled in different jobs. That didnt hold my interest too well either so....I moved to Billings, Montana and then decided to join the Army. I went to Fort Leonardwood, MO in 2002 for 8 weeks of hell and then to Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Maryland for 10 more weeks of training to be a diesel mechanic (imagine that..yep) After all that training I finally got assigned to my unit, the 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment in Fort Carson, CO. This is where I thought I fell in "love" and had a shotgun wedding before I deployed to Iraq. I was in Iraq for 367 long, hot, miserable days. Came back to the states and the husband was gone, apartment cleared out...... (long story) so anyway...got divorced...and carried on with my life in the military. Went to some pretty cool places, met cool people, a few years go by and then silly me...I fell in "love" again. Then got orders to deploy AGAIN...so back to Iraq I go. I am there for 60 days and I think I am dying....I am sick as hell and think I have cancer so I go to the medics and find out its not cancer.....its a baby!! So I take a 30 hour flight home and spend the next 7 months assigned to the rear detachment in Colorado. My son was born in November 2005. His dad is in Iraq....so I'm going it solo with an infant. So the dad comes home from Iraq, decides he's not really the father type...finds himself a girlfriend on the side (you know the rest, divorce #2, man I am on a roll huh). So...I finish my enlistment after 4 years of fun filled Army life and moved back to Idaho, I worked construction for awhile, worked for a vet, and now I work at the Fremont County court house and for Fremont Counties finest police department! I am engaged to the right one this time (Levi) & we will be getting married in September. My son is the coolest kid EVER, I didnt know one little person could make me so happy! Its good to be back home and it will be great to see everyone this summer! melissa_reum@yahoo.com
